SEC Reveals Crypto Task Force Members

Token FlashBy Token FlashMarch 4, 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commissioner Hester Peirce has formally introduced the members of the recently created Crypto Task Force.

Under the leadership of Commissioner Peirce, this task force will be instrumental in guiding the commission on regulatory issues concerning digital assets.

SEC Commissioner Reveals Crypto Task Force Members

The Crypto Task Force unites experts from different sectors of the SEC. Their combined expertise spans legal, policy, and operational areas. Peirce emphasized the group’s dedication to addressing intricate regulatory issues within the cryptocurrency domain.

“The Crypto Task Force exhibits deep expertise and an enthusiastic commitment to identifying—with the help of other talented staff across the Commission and interested members of the public—workable solutions to difficult crypto regulatory problems,” she stated in the press release.

The leadership team includes Richard Gabbert as Chief of Staff, Michael Selig as Chief Counsel, Taylor Asher as Chief Policy Advisor, and Sumeera Younis as Chief of Operations.

Supporting their efforts are Senior Advisors Landon Zinda, Donald Battle, Bernard Nolan, Laura Powell, Veronica Reynolds, Christopher Rice, Mark Sater, Andrew Schoeffler, Frank Sensenbrenner, and Robert Teply, all contributing their expertise.

The disclosure follows the creation of the Crypto Task Force in January 2025 under Acting Chairman Mark Uyeda. The task force aims to create clearer regulatory guidelines, streamline compliance processes, and refine disclosure standards while ensuring enforcement efforts remain focused and effective.

In addition to these efforts, the Crypto Task Force will be hosting a series public roundtable talks. These will be called as the “Spring Sprint Toward Crypto Clarity.”

Notably, the task force has scheduled the initial event for March 21. It is titled “How We Got Here and How We Get Out – Defining Security Status.”

The roundtable will be open to the public and streamed live. However, security measures will restrict in-person attendance. A recorded version will be made available after the event. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in small-group breakout discussions, which will take place off-air.

“I am looking forward to drawing on the expertise of the public in developing a workable regulatory framework for crypto,” Peirce remarked.

Commissioner Peirce further stressed that the roundtables will be a crucial platform for dialogue and collaboration. These initiatives align with President Trump’s vision to foster crypto innovation and establish America as the global leader in the digital asset space.
